Can A Shopping Website Help De-frump the Bump?

by e on April 4, 2011

Sometimes, I frolic… sometimes I shop. But I have never put the two together. Thankfully, Shopafrolic can do it for all of us.

What am I talking about? This weekend, I, along with the other Philly Social Media Moms, headed up to New York City for a day of pampering, product and beauty at the Getting Gorgeous Event, sponsored by Degree Women.

Ladies, I walked away from the event knowing one thing for sure…pregnant, schmegnant… I need these shoes.

I fell in love with this Via Spiga sandals at the table for Shopafrolic.com. Yes, I would look like a complete amazon woman wearing these. Yes, My pregnant body would teter on these wedges… but Oh. My. Gosh. They are so cute.

So, I had no idea what the heck Shopafrolic was. In fact, I’ve never subscribed to a shopping website, but after talking to Shopafrolic founders Liz and Jane, I decided to sign up and give it a try. And if you read their “About” page on the Shopafrolic site you will fall in love with them too.

Oh, and it’s Liz Lange, as in the maternity designer for Target. She was pretty much the only designer I wore my entire pregnancy. Yes, I thanked her graciously.

My favorite part of the website is the “Buy/Don’t Buy” page where readers send in an item they have or want, and Jane and Liz weigh in on everything from accessories to whether or not the reader should wear it at all.

It’s like having Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear in your closet all the time. Love that.

Yeah, so Liz and Jane were totally cute and so inviting. I can only imagine their website will be the same and, bloggy friends? After this pregnancy, I am kind of determined to change my ways in fashion. I need to de-frump the bump and maybe using a website to find my fashion sense is just what it takes.

Do you subscribe to a shopping and fashion website? Which ones do you recommend?

You can have those, E. I was drooling over the tan ankle cuffs with the like 5 inch stiletto heel. Yes, I understand the absurdity of that statement, but like you said, pregnant, shemgnant.

When we decide to wear them, we should wear them together and clutch on to one another for deal life!

Why is everything fun up north? I’m going to need an event further south :)

Plus, how come nobody ever told me I could have my own personal Stacey & Clinton? I could’ve used this! Thank you for telling me about it :)
